From November 17 to 21, 2024, we traveled to Berlin with highschool students from Liechtenstein to collaborate with university students and experts on developing the app for our project Token 4 Change. The goal of the app is to provide a platform where young people can easily share their ideas and actively participate in decision-making processes.
Workshops and Concrete Outcomes
The week was packed with productive workshops. Together with Social Design Master’s and Design Bachelor’s students from SRH University, we developed and refined initial design concepts. The young participants shared their perspectives and provided feedback, which was directly incorporated into the next development steps. Additionally, we exchanged ideas with the team behind the participation platform AULA to discuss best practices for digital engagement. A major focus was on how to make the app user-friendly and relevant—for example, by incorporating gamification elements that promote collaboration and a design tailored to the needs of young people.
Cultural Exchange and Networking
Beyond the intense work sessions, there was time to visit the Berlin Wall and other landmarks. These excursions provided space for relaxed exchanges, strengthened team dynamics, and inspired new ideas.
A Big Step Forward
The trip to Berlin was a key milestone in the development of Token 4 Change. It highlighted the importance of direct collaboration between young people, students, and professionals to create innovative solutions. The dialogue with our Berlin partners will continue, and the experiences from this week will shape the next phases of the project.
With Token 4 Change, we are creating a platform focused on collaboration and practical implementation—aimed at empowering young people to actively engage in societal processes.
